Question

Hello Everyone,
I am a Felicity lover and I was so excited that her collection was finally reintroduced after many years of shrinking. However now I am disappointed that AG did not go further to bring back more of her collection. All she really got that was new was one dress, the carriage, and Patriot she has to share her night side table with Elizabeth and her she lost her coral necklace which is a key part of her meet book. She lost as well the mob cap to match her Rose Garden dress and most of her school collection. Partly I am just venting I found an old catalog today a 00' and all of her stuff was so pretty I just wish they brought it all back. I can wish though thanks for reading.

I too am a bit dissapointed. I was hoping Felicity would get a few new dresses, or at least what she got and a reissue of her work dress since it is on the cover of Elizabeth's book. I don't see why they couldn't have kept the coarl necklace seprate (since she also wears it in Felicity Learns a Lesson) and included the red ribbon mob cap with the rose garden dress (since it's the only outfit now that doesn't come with a cap). I'm still upset about them retiring the chacolate set since they've made such a big deal about Felicity and her family not drinking tea.

count me in! I don't like her new dress either, I'm disappointed by all these false petticoats. I also saw some of her stuff in person at AGPC and her guitar is plastic, yuck, and the new doll closet isn't hard wood. I did think Polly was pretty darn cute though.

I totally agree with you!!!!! Felicity was my second doll and my favorite. Personally, I wish they didn't retire all this stuff in the first place which I'm sure you all agree with. I would rather them bring back some of the retired items EXACTLY the way they were before so I wouldn't have to get both a new and an old version. Polly and Patriot are the only new items I particularly care for. I think Mattel in general has done a much degrading job on the quality Pleasant Company had put before. (Sry if the last setance made no sence). Even for other dolls, the quality is different, and all the clothes and accessories seem to have a "Mattel touch" They are less realistic and remind me more of nice barbie clothes then accurate historical collector doll clothes. Do any of you guys know what I mean? When I go to pick out an outfit, the outfits that havnt't changed since Pleasant Company last touched them are my favorite.

When Felicity was in the 'older' catalogues (1998-2000ish,) DD was into the 'Bitty Baby' items, so I never knew much about her original things. I DO wish AG still offered the chocolate set.

I ahve to agree. I was soooo excited about Felicity coming back, but I just can't seem to get all that excited about it, though I did like the movie.

I don't like her new tea dress. Don't like the fact that the traveling gown is now the meet outfit. Luckily I have a PM Felicity with the garden rose dress, shift, as well as the original accessory set already, but I'm now finding myself literally searching for auctions that have PM outfits, which I really can't afford.

I've found a few sweet deals, including Felicity's original wooden guitar, mint in box for $30. But I think I will only be getting her Tea Dress to say I have her "complete" collection. For that matter, I'm not even sure it would fit my chubby Lissie.

I really, really hate that they're using the traveling gown as her new 'Meet' dress. WHY did they use a dress that was already in her collection, not to mention the ONLY cheapy-looking, not-so-great outfit in it?!?! Plus it clashes SO terribly with the brocade purse still being used in the acessories, and the garters. The new closet is so silly. You can only store a couple of outfits into those boxes. It seems like it was made to put the dolls away in, which is dumb because most people keep thier dolls out to display. I hate the new tea dress, too, and the tea set.

it seems for every new thing Felicity got for the movie etc, there was something else of her collection that was kicked to the curb. its almost like AG is scared to let lissie have a nice and almost decent sized collection like Samantha! (no insult on samantha intended) its like why is samantha the only doll that has EVERYTHING and the biggest collection??! what is it AG???! are you afraid that another doll and her cute line will disgrace samantha by becoming more popular and outselling her?!!! geeze maybe thats why I have very little interest in samantha and her collection-she has and gets EVERYTHING! UG!

Thanks to all who have posted I now know I am not alone in my opinions. I really must hide away the old catalog I found it only makes me sad and mad. I am getting the rose garden dress I really like it but seeing the old version with the cap and necklace makes me really want to get them, oh at least there is Ebay and the chance to find some of her old stuff. happy posting

I, too, have been a bit disappointed.

I agree with all of you about the Meet dress also. I haven't been really pleased with any of the new "Meet" dresses (Nellie, Elizabeth, Felicity.) The "Meet" dresses have traditionally been everyday dresses that the girls of their particular era would wear. The latest ones have been more like party dresses. I don't actually dislike the dresses, I just wish they were not their "Meet" dresses. For example, I really like Nellie's, but it's so much more dressy than Samantha's.
